Debt Consolidation

Living simply

Ron Blue counsels people who make less than $20,000 a year, others who make several million, and still others who make anything in between. You may find it hard to believe, but many of them struggle with the same problem: They can't make ends meet.

You see, income is not the problem. Spending more than one's income is the problem. So reducing living expenses is the first step to finding money you never knew you had.

It's common these days to seek the trappings of success - a high-priced watch, a snazzy sports car, an elegant home - without being able to afford it. Ron once noticed a man purchase on credit a watch costing thousands of dollars. The man even put the down payment on a credit card. When he walked out of the store and saw his friend, what do you think the reaction would be? "Wow, Joe must be doing pretty well, because he can afford that expensive watch!" But Joe was wondering how he could make the payments on it for the next two years!

Our society has bankrupted itself by recklessly pursuing wealth on the dangerous road of credit. We buy certain material possessions to make a statement - which, unfortunately, is usually a lie.

That may be hard for the world to understand, but we know it's true.

Notice the promise He makes here in relation to our contentment and lack of covetousness: He'll never leave us! He'll always be there to meet our needs.

Will you trust Him enough to believe that?
